Astroworld Attorneys Filing Suit Against Event Organizers for Injuries and Loss of Life

Concert catastrophe lawyer Calhoun Meredith is offering immediate consultations to the victims that were injured at Astroworld along with families that had a loved one killed at the concert. The firm is investigating wrongful death claims and other personal injuries for attendees of the event in Houston, TX, organized by artist Travis Scott and others.

Reports from the November 5, 2021, concert at NRG Park indicate that before the show, many people breached a VIP entrance at the event. These attendees knocked over barriers, metal detectors and other guests while ignoring security staff. Entrance gates and merchandise booths were also mobbed.

Prior to the show, a countdown clock started. This clock indicated when rapper Travis Scott, who was also an organizer of the event, would start performing. With each minute that passed, and it became closer to the start of the show, the crowd of more than 50,000 attendees started pressing towards the stage. Many attendees struggled to breathe and were unable to get out of the area; many fell to the ground.

Concert Declared a “Mass Casualty Event”

After the artist began performing, the crowd surged forward, causing more concert goers to struggle to breath; additional people passed out and many were trampled. As ambulances and medical staff raced to help the victims, the event was declared a “mass casualty event” at 9:38 p.m., indicating there was loss of life; however, the concert continued until after 10:00 p.m.

The stampede ultimately cost eight attendees their lives; hundreds others were injured, resulting in medical attention both on-site and off-site.
